Overview

You can use placeholders to help you name your pre-comps automatically. Let’s go through each one below:

[c] — Parent Composition Name

Use [c] when you want to insert the name of your selected layer(s) parent composition.

[l] — Layer Name

Use [l] when you want to insert the name of your selected layer. This only works when only 1 layer is selected.

[p] — Prefix

Use [p] when you want to insert your predefined prefix into the name. This can only be added at the start of your name.

[s] — Suffix

Use [s] when you want to insert your predefined suffix into the name. This can only be added at the end of your name.

[#] — Index

Use [#] when you want to insert some digits into your name. You can type multiple # inside the brackets to represent leading zeros or the amount of digits. Pre-compose Pro automatically increments the index if there is another comp with the exact same name. The index placeholder can only be added at the end of your name.
